Hi everyone!My name is Melissa, and I've come up with the concept for R2Freedom.

I'm so glad you've stopped by my page to see what we're all about! I want to provide you will the FULL background, so bare with me as I try and incorporate all the details!

In April 2015, God called me into prison ministry and has given me a heart for the women incarcerated at The Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) in Marysville Ohio.In October 2016 I was given the opportunity to begin facilitating a bible study at ORW. The Bible study focuses on women in recovery and we are currently working through a 12 step bible called "Life Recovery". During a typical Tuesday night, the Bible study brings an average of 35 women, seeking fellowship, help with recovery and a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to the Life Recovery bible study, I was approached by the prison Chaplain about helping kick off a mentorship program. I put together a group of 7 other volunteers, and in February 2018 we kicked off our first 6 month, one-on-one mentorship program, called Life Builders. The concept of Life Builders is to help women develop realistic plans and goals for when they leave prison and begin their reintegration back into society. Not only do these women need plans and goals, but they need resources, finances, healthy relationships and Jesus.

I wanted to take the mentorship program one step further, and really help these ladies put these newly developed goals into action. One major need for any plan of action, is financial resources.

And this is where R2Freedom comes in...Every time you make a purchase from R2Freedom, you are directly supporting the goals and dreams of one of these women, upon their release. Every woman has a story, and these designs have been specifically created to help them tell their story.Proceeds from each collection, will be allocated specifically to support the individual woman who represents the designs. The funds will assist these formerly incarcerated women with making purchases for food, clothing, transportation and housing.
